James Troisi could be making his way to Western Sydney next season but it would come at a hefty price. There’s no clear signs but, connecting the dots, it certainly seems possible.
The Australian national team forward and Asian Cup winning goal scorer, is currently off-contract with Melbourne Victory (though not confirmed as leaving). He is reportedly after marquee status and wages, which Melbourne Victory have been unwilling to agree to. SBS – The World Game previously reported that Troisi was looking for a move to Sydney FC before they resigned Bobo and Ninkovic as their 2 marquees for next season.
Following the Wanderers’ recent annual clean out, there are a number of spots available. This, importantly, includes both of the Wanderers’ marquee spots.
If the Wanderers are willing to dish out, they could snap up Troisi to bolster their attack heading into next season. Although not the proven striker that the Wanderers so desperately need, he would still add some skill and experience to the, mostly, lackluster attack of the past few seasons. In short, he’s a handy weapon there for the taking (at the right price).
