Preview: Wanderers V Perth Glory

After a drought-breaking Derby win last weekend, the Wanderers look to make it two on the trot for the first time this season. But with their 3rd game within 7 days, how much energy do they have left to give? Especially with a trip to Shanghai for a game on Tuesday night.

Perth Glory, despite being one of the in form teams have failed to impress this season. Tipped to go all the way this year and win the premiership with the likes of Keogh, Castro and Warren, Glory find themselves sitting in 5th only ahead of 6th place Wanderers by 4 points.

This truly makes it a 6 point game for us tonight, as we look to moving up the ladder for a better finish in the finals race, and hopefully a home final along the way.

The last two meetings between these sides both ended in draws. 2 all in Perth early in the season before ending 1 all at ANZ stadium on New Years Day, and both games weren’t without controversy.

If the Wanderers play their best starting 11, including derby hero Santalab, we stand a decent chance at notching up our 6th win, and our first back to back wins of the season. If we play a side similar to the one that went down to Urawa mid-week, we should look at playing our youth for the rest of the season.

Vedran Janjetovic will be looking for a big game tonight, hopefully of bagging another clean sheet. In fact many would argue that his performance between the sticks is the reason behind the half resurgence of the team this season.
