Leeds United to open Wanderland

Some great news for Wanderers fans with Leeds United having been booked for a glamour friendly to open the new Wanderland.

The match will be played in the offseason as we prepare for another tilt at the A-League, it will be great to see us back at our new home and the expected 4000 traveling Leeds fans will provide fantastic atmosphere inside the new stadium.

Of course the RBB will have the new state of the art standing area and the noise generated by both sets of fans will be a fitting way to open a ground which will hopefully become renown not just in Australia but internationally.

We have watched clubs like Melbourne and Sydney FC host a swathe of friendlies in cavernous stadiums, we had a game ourselves vs Arsenal too, however, should this match meet expectations as a spectacle, we should see regular matches at our new home against international opposition.

Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said of the fixture:

“Our incredible members and fans have waited a long time to see this stadium come to fruition and we cannot wait to play our first match there against a club with so much history and tradition in Leeds United,”

“This will be a historic event for the club, the stadium and the people of Western Sydney.”
