After a poor season by the Wanderers standards, two wins on the trot should see them bring some much needed confidence into tonight’s game.

Currently 6th on the ladder with 28 points, we are 4 point behind Glory and 5 points behind Brisbane. With a bit of luck, and games going our way, we have the potential to climb a few positions up the ladder.

And with a 5 point buffer over the Nix, a win tonight would all but mathematically guarantee us to be in the finals this season.

If the last two games are anything to go by, we should be in for a goal fest tonight, scoring 6 goals in the lat 180 minutes. City also bring in goal scoring form winning 4-0 last time out.

The stats are there to make this a great game. The Wanderers are winless in their last 3 games against City, and City are yet to win an away game against us. Also, there has never been a goalless game between the two sides, with an average of 3.2 goals per game.

After a 1-1 draw in the first game against City at Spotless this year followed by a 1-0 defeat in Melbourne, the Wanderers may be in form to get a win over their rivals.

Adding to this clash is the fact that Tim Cahill is out for international duty, after terrorising the Wanderers defence in the last two clashes. And Lachlan Scott will have some much needed confidence from his first international goal.

Desperate to secure a finals berth, and potential to climb up the ladder, the Wanderers will be coming out red hot looking for back to back wins at Spotless. Look to see record breaker Santalab bag another one tonight, adding another to his growing tally.

Prediction: 3-2 Wanderers.
